Individual Therapy
I bring a client-centered, relational approach to working with adolescents and adults. I believe in your inherent worth, value, and the powerful ways your brain and body have worked to help and protect you. We will work together to identify and work toward your goals while also holding space for compassionate awareness of how much you’re already doing. We might choose to use EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic approaches. We will also find ways to incorporate playfulness in our process!
I meet with clients in-person at my Arvada office and have availability for telehealth appointments as well.
Play Therapy
Play is the language of children. Play also provides space for creativity and safety that allows children to explore parts of themselves, find new ways to solve problems, and build communication and regulation skills. I provide play therapy for children ages 3-10, in addition to working closely with parents and school systems to support child clients.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence based approach to treating trauma and addressing people’s internalized negative beliefs. These beliefs may show up in the form of anxiety, depression, heightened stress responses, low self-esteem, or relationship challenges. It is an eight phase treatment that uses bilateral stimulation (typically back and forth eye movements or tapping) to work the brain and help an individual process past experiences and beliefs. EMDR can also be integrated with other approaches such as art and play therapy and can be used with clients of all ages.
Consultation
In the same way that we join with our clients, I believe in the importance of connection as fellow therapists to ensure that we are providing the best care possible and taking care of ourselves in the process.
